The Angola Rodeo, the longest running prison rodeo in the nation, is held twice a year, in the spring and fall.. The Spring rodeo normally being in the third weekend in April and the Fall rodeo every Sunday in October.
The popularity of the Angola Rodeo has grow so large that the stadium has been enlarged numerous times. All rodeos sell out in recent years and it is therefore strongly reccommended to purchase tickets well in advanced.
Information on dates, times and tickets can be found at their website at: http://www.angolarodeo.com
Each year, Angola Inmate Artists are challenged by the Warden to create/design a commemorative poster. The Rodeo Committee reviews all artwork submitted and makes the final selection. Posters can be purchased at the rodeo or obtained by contacting a rodeo representative at (225) 655-2060 or 2133.
